Iggy
Sous la pluie il disparait et, attablé devant une gamelle de spaghettis, impossible de savoir qui mange qui. Pas facile de vivre avec un lévrier afghan.
Duc est un chat et nous parle de son quotidien avec Iggy, son animal de compagnie, lévrier afghan de son état. De sa manière de toujours faire pipi au pied du saule pleureur. De son amour pour les spaghettis. De sa manière de disparaître quand il pleut. Des longues heures qu’il passe dans la salle de bain et chez le coiffeur. Et de sa folie des balles.
Le texte d’Alex Cousseau est comme toujours parfait. Mais cette fois, il l’a écrit pour que Janik puisse renouer avec le dessin au crayon et s’amuser comme une folle avec ce grand échalas aux longues rayures (nous parlons d’Iggy, pas d’Alex Cousseau
et de son pull breton). Rien n’est plus graphique et comique qu’un lévrier afgan. Particulièrement quand il court à 90 km/h derrière une balle, tous ses poils à l’horizontale. Vous visualisez la scène ou vous voulez un dessin ? Ouvrez le livre et réjouissez-vous devant ceux de Janik Coat !
Janik est graphiste et amoureuse des chiens. Alex est auteur et amoureux des chiens. Et tous les deux forment un merveilleux duo qui se régale et nous régale à chaque album.

Iggy
Under pouring rain, he disappears, and in front of a plate of spaghetti, it’s hard to tell who’s eating what. It’s certainly not easy living with an Afghan Hound…
Duke, the cat, tells us all about this everyday life with Iggy, his pet, an actual Afghan Hound. About the way Iggy always pees under the weeping willow, his love of spaghetti, all the long hours he spends in the bathroom or at the hairdressers… And how crazy he is about balls!
As usual, Alex Cousseau’s text is perfect. But this time, he wrote it for Janik Coat to go back to pencil drawing and get a kick out of this beanpole covered in long stripes (we’re talking about the dog, not about Alex Cousseau with his striped jersey from Brittany).
Nothing is more graphic and comical than an Afghan Hound. Especially when he runs at 90 km/hour after a ball, all hair up. Can you visualize the scene, or do you need a drawing? Just open the book and marvel in front of Janik’s!
Janik Coat, a graphic designer and illustrator, is madly in love with dogs. Alex Cousseau is an author, and he’s madly in love with dogs, too.
They form a marvellous duo who has great fun working together and allow us to join the fun with each one of their picture books.
