À peine la riche archiduchesse a-t-elle mis ses chaussettes et son chandail à sécher qu’un rusé chat les lui chipe… Mais c’est sans compter sur le garde-chasse – amoureux secret de l’archiduchesse – qui finit par lui échanger six slips chics contre les précieux biens. Mais finalement, l’archiduchesse se soucie-t-elle vraiment de ces chaussettes-ci, de ce chandail-là et du garde-chasse ? C’est qu’elle est si riche… Et ce chat chapardeur et ce fidèle garde-chasse n’ont-ils pas plus en commun qu’il n’y parait ? C’est ce que chette histoire nous dira !
Entièrement écrit en virelangue, ce texte est un véritable terrain de jeu : on fourche sur la langue, on la retourne, on s’éreinte sur les phrases et, soudain, un langage on ne peut plus contemporain surgit, et c’est bien ça le plus drôle !

As soon as the wealthy Archduchess put out her socks and jumper to dry, a crafty cat nicks them off- but that’s without taking into account the gamekeeper: who is secretly in love with the Archduchess and ends up swapping six stylish underpants for the precious goods. Eventually, we are led to ask ourselves: does the Archduchess really care about these socks, that jumper, or even the gamekeeper? She’s so wealthy… and don’t that pilfering cat and loyal gamekeeper have more in common than it seems? That’s what this story will tell us!
Entirely written in tongue-twister, this text is a real playground: we stumble over language, turn it inside out, work out the sentences and suddenly a language that couldn’t be more contemporary emerges, and that’s the fun part!
