Une étoile au Vomichelin
Patrick est un ver de terre qui dirige un célèbre restaurant. Comme tous les grands cuisiniers, il rêve de décrocher une étoile dans le célèbre guide Vomichelin. Mais un jour, malheur, la main qui jusqu’à présent fournissait Patrick en produits avariés, l’arrache à son compost et il se retrouve attaché au bout d’une canne à pêche. Heureusement notre ver pactise avec les poissons : hors de question que l’un d’eux termine en bouillabaisse !
Les univers drôles et fantasques d’Ivan Péault et Mona Granjon se mêlent à merveille dans cet album hilarant. Certes il y est question d’un ver étoilé sacrément malin et de plats de pâtes délicieusement moisies mais, mine de rien, il y est aussi question de compost, de retraitement des déchets et de la question de manger ou non des animaux.
Pat the Worm’s Restaurant
Pat is a worm AND a restaurant owner. Like all great chefs, his wish is to receive his very own star in the very posh Revolting Culinary Guide. But one day, unfortunately, the hand that had been giving Pat delicious rotten produce until then tears it/him Pat away from his compost. He is now tied to the end of a fishing rod! Luckily for him, Pat manages to save his life by befriending the fish and making a pact with them: no way will should they turn into soup!
The laugh out loud funny and fanciful universes of author Ivan Péault and illustrator Mona Granjon beautifully match in this book. Indeed, it is the story of a very smart worm with its own culinary star and deliciously moldy pasta dishes, but underneath it also tackles ecology, compost, waste processing and whether we should eat animals.
